More than 1,400 veterinarians, livestock producers, scientists, and others concerned with animal health are at the week-long joint conference here, a record-breaking attendance for the fourth consecutive year. Presenting the new award was Dr. Rick Willer, Arizona State Veterinarian who has served as USAHA president this past year. In making the presentation, Dr. Willer noted that this award recognizes an individual who has provided tremendous support to the USAHA president as well as support for the entire USAHA mission. "Dr. Alley has been actively involved in USAHA for many years," Dr. Willer said; "where the Association is today is due in large part to the efforts and leadership he has provided." In addition to serving as USAHA Secretary since October 1999, Dr. Alley was USAHA President in 1992. He served as chair of the Committee on Brucellosis from 1994 to 2000.
